Foundation for Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development (FIED), the incubation center of IIM Kashipur, a Section 8 Company, has been instrumental in creating an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in Uttarakhand. FIED is built in an area of 20000 sq. ft., running projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare. FIED is channelizing its efforts majorly in Agriculture Technology and Agri-entrepreneurship but also working in the domains of Tourism, Education, and Sustainable Technologies.
FIED operates within the IIM Kashipur campus. Spread over 200 acres, the host institute is located in the Kashipur city of the Udham Singh Nagar district (Uttarakhand). Situated in one of the most densely industrialized regions, Kashipur offers numerous avenues for starting up and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship is never an easy path for any individual to take. Seeking out a path for oneself – a road not traveled often is certainly not the most secure option. However, society is built upon disruptive start-ups that have changed our perspectives time and again. The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur embodies this spirit of disruption, and our focus has always been on helping budding entrepreneurs to become business leaders.
Our Incubation Centre - IIM Kashipur Foundation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development (FIED) has been playing an instrumental role in establishing an entrepreneurship ecosystem in Uttarakhand. Right from the inception of the idea to the stage of exponential growth, FIED facilitates every step in the journey of start-ups. Few entities achieved and contributed so much as FIED has in the course in just four years, and our growth plans have everyone waiting in anticipation for what lies ahead. Importantly, FIED's growth also leaves a lasting impact on the students of IIM Kashipur who proudly proclaim themselves to be a part of an entrepreneurial hub and be emboldened to pursue their entrepreneurial plans. Over the year, FIED plans to further the reach of entrepreneurship to all sections of the society. With this, I welcome all the potential stakeholders to collaborate with FIED in its journey to become one of the biggest incubation centers in India.
Welcome to IIM Kashipur FIED! Our incubation centre, run with the support and guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, and the Government of Uttarakhand, has come a long way in a short timespan! It has been four exciting years for FIED. We built a team of ten passionate employees in our centre and have been able to develop a state-of-the-art infrastructure in the centre to facilitate entrepreneurship and creativity.
We have trained more than a thousand entrepreneurs all these years, but this is just the beginning. The ultimate goal of the centre is to blend traditional methods with new creative ideas and bring forth new products and services that transform Uttarakhand. We are indeed fortunate to move forward in our mission to create and foster an ecosystem in Uttarakhand which will not only assist start-ups, but also generate avenues for employment and national growth.
On behalf of the entire FIED faculty, staff, and eCell student body, I sincerely thank all our stakeholders for helping us at every stage of the incubation program.
